Ban Tai is the stretch of the north coast between Bang Po and Maenam, a quiet, green part of the island with a long, calm beach, a few low-key resorts and a local feel, and the villas sit inland on a residential lane on the Maenam side. Daily life is easy from here: a 7-Eleven and the local football ground are a minute away, the Maenam afternoon market is about a kilometre, Ban Tai beach about 1.8 km, and the pier for the boats to Koh Phangan and Koh Tao around five minutes. The international school and the Santiburi golf course are within ten minutes, Fisherman's Village in Bophut about eleven, Nathon about thirteen, and the airport around twenty-five.
